Hi there, it's Boa.

— a product designer, entrepreneur, and creator of things I love.

my design journey
My passion for UX and product design was ignited during my MA studies at the London College of Communication—where I also gained knowledge in design principles, including typography, layout and colour theory, with skills in editorial design and production through project-based practice.

A self-starter at heart, I immersed myself in the world of UX/UI, engaging in consistent study, mentorship, and global collaborations; I honed my skills in the design process, namely:

• User research
• User journey mapping
• UI design
• Wireframing
• Prototyping
• Usability testing
• Responsive design
• HTML and CSS and more.

I’m a product designer with a background in content strategy and copywriting. Through the experience of collaborating with stakeholders for clients including Apple, Google, and Amazon to create exceptional customer experiences in the digital world, I’ve developed invaluable transferable skills, including how to:

• conduct comprehensive research
• attract the target audience with effective strategies
• write engaging content with the right tone of voice
• communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
• maintain a detail-oriented eye
• incorporate new trends without sacrificing creativity

my design process
As a user research enthusiast, I am committed to conducting research that is both rigorous and empathetic. By grounding my design decisions in evidence, I create products that truly resonate with users and meet their needs.

I constantly learn inclusive design techniques and strive to make accessibility a fundamental aspect of my design process. It is not only a moral imperative, but also a design challenge. It also makes good business sense, allowing products to reach a wider audience.
Still curious about me and want to hear what I have done so far?

A few things ABOUT myself
Unwavering curiosity and empathy
I founded an interview magazine <FACE> with three co-workers in Seoul, South Korea. I reached out to many people with different stories and from various backgrounds such as musicians, environmental activists, architects, filmmakers, poets, and even random people passing through the city. I have always loved diving deeply into research and communicating with a diverse network of people. Interviewing people enabled me to develop my listening skills and truly strengthened my ability to empathise with others. I find a similar joy when conducting user research and delving into the possible solutions waiting to be unearthed, to make people's lives smoother and richer.
A perpetual learner
As someone with a first for knowledge and an interest in many arenas, I am always learning something new. My learning journey has been a dynamic one, but it always has been about creating something that connects and stimulates the human experience. After completing my bachelor's degree in Music Composition at Ewha Womans University, I worked as an online marketer in the music industry while being a founder-editor of an interview magazine. Seeking a new perspective, I moved to London and completed my Master's degree in Publishing at London College of Communication, where my interest in both physical and digital product design flourished. From there, I delved into design principles and user experience research and design, which inspired me to contribute to global projects and work on creating new digital products.
Intersectional collaboration experience
In recent years I have been involved in many collaborative projects with different stakeholders under myriad limitations and challenges. I have worked as a project member and manager for cultural production and events, including magazines, advertisements, documentaries and conferences. My previous roles include research assistant, copywriter, marketing executive, editor, speaker curator and transcreator. I believe these uniquely varied experiences at the intersections and edge of collaborative processes have given me a solid foundation as a designer with a holistic and effective approach.
Outside of work, I enjoy...
Making notebooks with a thread, needle and paper.
> my coptic-bound notebooks
Translating short stories into Korean.
> my 'women writers' book stack
Collecting some sound dust and weaving a quirky soundscape.
> you'll have to get to know me better to listen to this ;)
Based in Seoul and working worldwide.
Remote-friendly and open to relocate for a new challenge.
